She draws on Greek mythology for the description and completes the story, which in Homer's case ends with the death of Hector. Through Alan Lee's dramatic images, the book also opens a door to the world of the Greeks for young readers aged about 11 years and older. The English edition was awarded the Kate Greenaway Medal - the highest award for illustrated children's books in England. Bound and colourfully illustrated on 128 pages.
