Decor-Spielzeug was founded in 1957 by Eberhart Schmidt in Kassel as a licence company of Decor in Dornach (Switzerland).Two of the first three employees were people with disabilities, making Decor the first "workshop for the disabled" in Kassel and the surrounding area.From the very beginning, Decor has produced and sold educationally valuable, artistic wooden toys, the so-called "Waldorf toys".The company has been based on the outskirts of Wendland since 2016.Sales and large parts of production are organised in-house.The company continues to focus on working with people in need of care.
