The certificates available here come from SEKEM's reforestation projects in the Egyptian desert and biodynamic agriculture on SEKEM farms.

Through the CO2 enrichment in the formerly infertile sandy soil of the desert, SEKEM creates a livelihood for the growing Egyptian population and also makes an active contribution to climate protection. SEKEM follows the Gold Standard Afforestation/Reforestation regulations and the GS VCS guidelines when calculating the CO2 sequestration in the afforestation projects. In the area of the agricultural projects, the responsible Carbon Footprint Center follows the methodology of the Cool Farm Tool and the expert opinions and soil studies of the partner company Soil and More International.
