What is Seccorell®?

Seccorell® is an innovative color concept that was developed specifically for artistic and educational work. The color sticks contain high-quality pigments that, when rubbed on paper or cardboard, create delicate, glazed effects—very similar to classic watercolor painting, but without the use of water.

This technique was further developed into a versatile color system in collaboration with artists and educators. It offers people of all ages intuitive opportunities for creative design—whether at school, at home, or in therapeutic work.

Seccorell® technology – How it works!

With the unique Seccorell® technique, you can create fine, velvety areas of color without using any water. Rubbing, brushing, and smudging create a painterly effect—ideal for creative pictures, greeting cards, wood, shells, stones, and much more.

In just a few steps, you can create expressive, delicate, or colorful pictures:

1. Rub off the paint:

The color stick is rubbed over the paper on the rubbing block or ring.

2. Brush off the color powder:

Now brush the colored powder from the grating surface onto the paper using the brush.

3. Smudge the paint:

The powder is smudged with the fingers and worked into the paper – for smooth transitions and a flat color effect. It is also possible to mix the colors. This creates surprising new shades time and time again.

4. Repolishing for smudge resistance:

The colored area is gently polished with a cotton pad or cloth. This makes it smudge-proof—like a crayon drawing, but with the delicacy of a watercolor.

Note:

It is very important to use a paper pad on which excess powder is dabbed with a cotton pad and rubbed in immediately so that no powder flies around.
