The puzzle

The activity of jigsaw puzzles, in which pre-formed individual pieces are put together in a very specific way, primarily addresses the child's cognitive skills as well as fine motor skills. In Waldorf education, this activity is avoided as far as possible in the first seven years, so that the forces of the body can benefit the physical development unhindered.

In contrast to this recommendation, however, we also have the experience that even smaller children and parents can immerse themselves in a nice togetherness by doing puzzles together. For some children, it helps them to find their way into a play activity by doing puzzles.
