Steam gyroscope - kit with detailed building instructions.

A tea light heats the copper pipe spiral and brings the water to the boil, the steam expels the water at the ends and creates a recoil, the steam condenses again and draws new water into the pipe. This process repeats itself several times per second as long as the heat is sufficient!

Did you know?
The mother of all steam engines was a ball that could rotate by steam-driven recoil and was invented as early as the 1st century AD by Hero of Alexandria (see Wikipedia: "Heronsball"). This floating spinning top also rotates according to the same principle.
